Description

New Methylene Blue N zinc chloride double salt also known as methylene blue N is an azo dye. It can bind, neutralize and crosslink with RNA.

Application

N 1447 (OTTO) New methylene blue Cas 1934-16-3 - used as a photosensitizer for the in vitro photodynamic inactivation of plant-pathogenic fungi Colletotrichum acutatum and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. It has also been used to determine the in vitro susceptibilities of Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Trichophyton rubrum microconidia to photodynamic antimicrobial chemotherapy (PACT).
