: Tartaric acid is a white crystalline organic acid that occurs naturally in many plants, most notably in grapes. Its salt, potassium bitartrate, commonly known as cream of tartar, develops naturally in the process of winemaking.

: T 1228 (OTTO) L-(+)-Tartaric acid ACS reagent, ≥99.5% Cas 87-69-4 - used as a starting material in the multi-step synthesis of 1,4-di-O-benzyl-L-threitol. It can be used a chiral resolving agent for the resolution of 2,2′-bispyrrolidine.
