Description

Bromoethane, also known as ethyl bromide, is a chemical compound of the haloalkanes group. It is abbreviated by chemists as EtBr (which is also used as an abbreviation for ethidium bromide). This volatile compound has an ether-like odour.

Application

B 2123 (OTTO) Bromoethane, 99% Cas 74-96-4 - used as solvent, as an anesthetic in medicine and as a refrigerant. It is an important component of antiknock fluid in gasoline. It is also also used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals like vitamin A as well as in the manufacture of flame retardants.
