Deuterium oxide, 99.8%

Code: D 1301

(For eg. B 1615-0108)

Deuterium oxide (2H2O ) is a form of water that contains a larger than normal amount of the hydrogen isotope deuterium, rather than the common hydrogen-1 isotope that makes up most of the hydrogen in normal water.

(End user certificate required)

D 1301 (OTTO) Deuterium oxide, 99.8% Cas 7789-20-0 - used in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy when the solvent of interest is water and the nuclide of interest is hydrogen. This is because the signal from the water solvent would interfere with the signal from the molecule of interest. Deuterium has a different magnetic moment from hydrogen and therefore does not contribute to the 1H NMR signal at the hydrogen-1 resonance frequency
