Potassium selenocyanate is the inorganic compound with the formula KSeCN. It is a hygroscopic white solid that is soluble in water, decomposing in air to red selenium and potassium cyanide.
P 0221 (OTTO) Potassium selenocyanate, ≥99% Cas 3425-46-5 - used to prepare triphenylphosphine selenide by reacting with triphenylphosphine. It finds application in solid state NMR of heavy-metal nuclei which results in the preparation of several mercury thiocyanate and selenocyanate compounds.
