Description

Mercury(II) nitrate is a toxic colorless or white soluble crystalline mercury(II) salt of nitric acid.

Application

M 1695 (OTTO) Mercuric nitrate, 99% Cas 7783-34-8 - used to treat fur to make felt in a process called 'carroting'. M 1695 (OTTO) Mercuric nitrate, 99% Cas 7783-34-8 - used as an oxidizing agent involved in organic synthesis. Its reaction with acetone yielded an organometallic compound containing mercury. In addition, it serves as a nitrification agent and analytical reagents used in the laboratory. It is involved in the preparation of mercury fulminate.
