B 2398 (OTTO) tert-Butyl chloride, 98% Cas 507-20-0 is a colourless, liquid organic compound at room temperature. It is sparingly soluble in water, with a tendency to undergo spontaneous solvolysis when dissolved into it. The compound is flammable and volatile, and its main use is as a starting molecule to carry out nucleophilic substitution reactions, to produce different substances, ranging from alcohols to alkoxide salts

Application

B 2398 (OTTO) tert-Butyl chloride, 98% Cas 507-20-0 - used as an alkylating agent for the introduction of tert-butyl group and is also involved in Friedel-Crafts reactions. It is employed as an intermediate for the synthesis of agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
