Description

Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, is the most common member of the class of phthalates which are used as plasticizers. It is the diester of phthalic acid and the branched-chain 2-ethylhexanol.

Application

B 1812 (OTTO) Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, puriss, 99% Cas 117-81-7 - used as dielectric fluid in capacitors, erasable inks and vacuum pump oils. It is also used as plasticizer. Further, it is used as a hydraulic fluid and as a solvent in glow sticks. In addition to this, it is used to give softness and flexibility to polyvinyl chloride products.
