Copper carbonate normally refers to the compound (Cu2(OH)2CO3) (the mineral malachite). Sometimes the name is used for Cu3(OH)2(CO3)2 (the related mineral azurite).

Application

C 2665 (OTTO) Cupric carbonate Cas 12069-69-1 - used as pigments and in treatment for copper deficiency in ruminants. C 2665 (OTTO) Cupric carbonate Cas 12069-69- - used in pyrotechnics, in sweetening of petrol sour crude stock and animal and poultry feeds. It finds application in some types of make-up such as lipstick. In analytical chemistry, it is used as a reagent for analysis.
