Calcium chloride is an inorganic compound, a salt with the chemical formula CaCl2.

Application

C 1375 (OTTO) Calcium Chloride, fused - Cas 10043-52-4 - used in concrete mixes to accelerate (speed up) the initial setting, but chloride ions lead to corrosion of steel rebar, so it should not be used in reinforced concrete.
