Description

Maltose is the Latin technical term for malt sugar , a degradation product of starch . It is a white crystalline disaccharide (disaccharide) with the empirical formula C 12 H 22 O 11 . It dissolves readily in water and has a sweet taste. In terms of sucrose has a 10% D -Maltoselösung a sweetening power of 41%
