Chitin - is in addition to cellulose , the most widespread polysaccharide and is used to structure formation. It differs from cellulose by an acetamide group . It is present in fungi as well as arthropods (Articulata) and molluscs before. In fungi it forms one of the main constituents of the cell wall . In annelids it occurs in the oral cavity.
