Boron trifluoride diethyl etherate is a complex compound consisting of diethyl ether and boron trifluoride (46%). The yellow, pungent-smelling liquid smokes in air due to hydrolysis, is highly flammable and corrosive.

B 1980 (OTTO) Boron trifluoride etherate Cas 109-63-7 - used as a source of boron trifluoride in many chemical reactions that require a Lewis acid. The compound features tetrahedral boron coordinated to a diethylether ligand. Many analogues are known, including the methanol complex.
