A 1242 (OTTO) ADA buffer, 98% Cas no 26239-55-4 - used in protein-free media for chicken embryo fibroblasts, as a chelating agent for H+, Ca2+, and Mg2+, and for isoelectric focusing in immobilized pH gradients.

ADA is a biological buffer with a pKa of 6.9 at 20 degrees Celsius and a pH in the range of 6.0-7.2. This Good's buffer prevents oxidation and irreversible denaturation of proteins while conducting gel electrophoresis
