Description

Cholic acid, also known as 3α,7α,12α-trihydroxy-5β-cholan-24-oic acid is a primary bile acid[1] that is insoluble in water (soluble in alcohol and acetic acid), it is a white crystalline substance. Salts of cholic acid are called cholates.

Application

C 2195 (OTTO) Cholic acid, 98%+ Cas 81-25-4 - used as an intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. It finds use in biological research. It helps in detergents to soften biological fats. It helps in preventing and melting gallstones.
