LY-294,002 hydrochloride is a highly selective inhibitor of PI 3-kinase (IC50 values are 0.31, 0.73, 1.06 and 6.60 μM for PI3Kβ, PI3Kα, PI3Kδ and PI3Kγ respectively). LY-294,002 hydrochloride induces apoptosis in many cell types by blocking the PI 3-kinase/Akt anti-apoptotic pathway. LY-294,002 hydrochloride is an inhibitor of Pim-1.
