Description

(+)-Catechin monohydrate is an antioxidant flavonoid that is a free radical scavenger. Research shows that it is relatively nontoxic to cells at high doses. (+)-Catechin can stop ultraviolet B induced human keratinocyte death through the inhibition of JNK phosphorylation.

Application

C 1711 (OTTO) Catechin, hydrate, 98% Cas 225937-10-0 - used as a substrate to determine the activity of pure L. plantarum CECT 748T 14 recombinant tannase on catechin. C 1711 (OTTO) Catechin, hydrate, 98% Cas 225937-10-0 - used as a polyphenol standard in the determination of total polyphenols in the by-products of red wine.
